So last night my phone rang, with a strange number. Generally, if I get any calls from different area codes (unless of course they're from North Dakota), I can be pretty sure it's a wrong number. Later I would look it up and find that this particular area code came from southern Georgia.
Me: Hello?
Guy: Hiya, I'm lookin' fer Naaaayoooomeee.
Me: Naomi? Sorry, I think you got the wrong number.
Guy: Aint this 218-482-
Me: -No, this is 218-428.
Guy: Oh, sorry ma'am. *hangs up*
10 minutes later... phone rings again, same number.
Me: Hello?
Guy: Excuse me ma'am, but I'm tryin' to find mah lil sister, she called from this number.
Me: What's the number?
Guy: 281-428...
Me: No, sorry, this is area code 218, not 281.
Guy: Awww I'm sorry ma'am... *click*
I guess you would've had to have been there to understand. But needless to say, it amused me. Sort of like yesterday at work when I told a customer he owed me $6.72, when it was really $7.62, and he ran back to his friends like, 3 times to get nickels and dimes.
