Amanda, this is for you...

Bush.. Kerry... who really cares?!?!

Even if who ever is elected, it will only be for four years... so if they suck, what could happen?!?!? They can't screw us over as much as we think they can.

And if they get re-elected... they must not be that bad

what could happen? Well...if you're against the war (i mostly am) then a few thousand people in Iraq could die for stupid reasons, you could make allies who once were happy with us not look at us in the same light, you could make seem like the office of president is a joke (not that it hasn't been done before, but it's being done with again). Most of that has happened in a few months, doesn't need 4 years. 4 years is a long time, not all policies can be reversed by the next president, not all can be stopped in time, some have long term effects as well as short term. The same goes for corporations ( ... )

I actually happen to love Bush, but I am getting tired of fighting with people who don't. The president does matter, but I am FIFTEEN, no point in me getting into a fight about it with my entire fucking Algebra or Drama class. I care, but I can't even vote now. So it really wasn't meant for voters, just for the people on here who can't vote but like to argue about it.

Aurgh, I'm sorry that so much shit happened because of this. But it would have happened if you had posted something about Bush or Kerry too. I mean, fine, know about politics, but stop complaining...there's nothing you can do. Lower the voting age? Sure, go for it, if you want the people you go to school with voting too.

It's a load of bullshit, it really is. Drop it. You can't vote, and you're not making a difference by bitching. Well, not you, THEM...*points up*

Stupid...absolutely stupid.

well this pisses me off. just because she cant vote she shouldnt care? so all kids are suppose to ignore the gov't until they are 18 and "magically" know how to judge the presidents character. i understand if shes upset by the fighting and the bittering, its childish, but by arguing you ARE making a difference. maybe not in the polls, but you are taking a active role in the gov't. just because everyone cant hear your opinion doesnt mean it doesnt matter.

I'm not saying she shouldn't care...I just don't see the point in getting so worked up over politics. Yes, keep up with the issues...yes, have you opinions. But start fights on live journal with people you don't know? Really , come ON.

She's not making any difference, Jamie. She's pissing people off and *getting pissed off.* (sorry, messed up on the last one) You know Rebekah Aaron? I can argue with her about religion until the cows come home, but it won't make any difference. She'll get frustrated, I'll get frustrated, end of story. If someone is pro Bush, your pro Kerry journal will piss them off, not make them change their mind.

Opinions do matter...but why start shit? I wrote an entry about this...look that up.

ahh...the beauty of controversy...lol rockbabe87 October 7 2004, 05:22:29 UTC
i'm not saying she has to change their minds, i just saying that everyone wants a free country and everyone wants to be friends, but god forbid if you state an opinion that someone else doesn't agree with. so now we went from freedom of speech too, "it doesn't matter, you can't change the world at 15 so just be silent" how is this democratic? can i debate about God even though I'm not dead yet?

Goodness, gracious!

All I'm trying to say, is it's stupid to fight over politics. Especially on livejournal where it ISN'T making a difference. The people who can vote are probably not reading the posts.

As for stating an opinion, that's what I'm doing. I'm telling people that I THINK it's stupid to fight over politics and get so worked up. What good does that do? Is it changing the world? Are we helping the election? NO. If you want to make a differenct, make a picket sign and go protest or something other than say something against a politic on here.

Once again, I'm not saying politics aren't important. I'm not saying you shouldn't keep up with what's going on. But I am saying that it's really pointless to fight. Why? You're fighting a losing battle. And I hate seeing people get worked up over it.

Hate Bush.
Love Bush.
Hate Kerry.
Love Kerry.

WHATEVER! Just stop pushing it on other people...there's a reason why ballots are private.

nobodys pushing any opinions on anyone else? we dont mind someone being private about it, but if they parade around saying " I LOVE BUSH" at every chance they better damn well be able to back it up!

Aurgh...nevermind.

I'm getting sucked into what I was pissed about in the first place...pointless arguments.

You know what I think. I know what you think. Let's just leave it at that.

why do you like bush? all we want is to know why? jamie likes bush, i support her 100%, im not trying to change your opinion on anything. just tell them why u like bush and you will be left alone. the controversy isint that u support bust, its just that u seem like one of those blind people whosupports someone religiousl and dosent know why

Why do I like Bush?? B.c I feel like he is right. Any issue that comes up, the decision he makes I agree with. I don't agree with Kerry b.c he can't seem to make up his mind. Simple as that... now, you can start arguing with me and write another 20 fucking comments. I am SO tired of this... I don't think this shit is right. We have one person commenting here who can actually vote. YES WE SHOULD ALL EDUCATE OURSELVES, YES WE SHOULD ALL HAVE OPINIONS... BUT THERE IS NO POINT IN FIGHTING ABOUT IT ON A STUPID WEBSITE! Damn...
