I SWEAR TO F*CKING GOD.....

Ok *breathes* I've found myself sucked into yet another argument over this goddamn fandom, so my inner feminist seriously needs to calm down. And the evil pairing of hate that we're arguing over is Joker/Harley (shocker), so here's what the twit and I were saying:

Twit: Oh they totally apply. It's an all around kind of thing in the mind of a fangirl. ;)
O_O You... you don't like Harley? *dead* You don't like Joker/Harley!? *dead three million times*

Me: Guh, of course not! She's a horrible example to impressionable young women, because she's a spineless, brainless nit who lets men walk all over her. And Joker/Harley is AWFUL since he abuses her just for his own gain, and she takes it like the doormat she is. I prefer putting J with strong women who can hold their own against him, because there's no sexual tension when the man says "Roll over" and the girl obeys. I'm somewhat of a feminist, so the whole abuse angle pisses me off.

Twit: I'm an uber feminist and I love Harley. I'm scarely feminist actually. But Joker/Harley is the most logical thing. It's how The Joker works. If I write fanfiction about Joker/Harley, particularly Nolanverse Harley, I make her a stronger woman who has succumbed to his amazing ability to read and control people. The only man who "walks all over her" is The Joker. She doesn't let anyone else. She's simple minded in the animated series, sure. But Nolanverse Harley would've been so badass. Sorry. I'm very protective of Joker/Harley. :D

Me: So you're saying it's "alright" since she just lets the JOKER walk all over her? That's awful! Nolanverse Harley is unacceptable to me, b/c DK J doesn't pant after women or express sexual interest unless it involves chaos. He doesn't hire women either, b/c he knows they're easily manipulated into feeling pity and often get emotional (what criminal mastermind wants to deal with a change of heart??). Besides, Nolan stated in an interview that he HATES Harley, so no matter what anyone says, there NEVER would've been a Harley Quinn in the Nolanverse series.

And how on earth is J/Harls logical?? If you think about it, it's the antithesis of logic since she loves someone who treats her like shit. That is NOT love, hence my frustration with people who act like it's the sweetest thing in the world. And why would we want a dark Harley? Her pep is what made her & J so different/interesting to watch, so having a dark Harley is like having two Jokers. The dynamic would be ruined.

Aaaaand the twit hasn't responded yet, but I seriously need to vent since I am SO fucking TIRED of hearing all these damn little fangirls go "Oh em geeeee, Joker/Harley forevaaaaa, they're like SO romantic!!!" FUCK THAT SHIT. They are NOT romantic, they are HORRIBLE and represent absolutely EVERYTHING in a relationship I can't stand!!!!

1) Abuse (both verbal/physical): Check.
2) Male dominance: Check.
3) One constantly has the other under his/her thumb: Check.
4) There are no romantic aspects, just a creepy obsession: Check.
5) The "submissive" one feels as though they can't leave, because they believe no one will love them the way the abuser does: Check.

FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK THIS PAIRING!!!!!!!! T________T Why don't people support strong female characters anymore????? Harley-fucking-Quinn is a feminist's nightmare, because she pretty much rolls over and plays dead as soon as the Joker comes into the room. Oh yeah, cuz I just LOVE seeing my sex portrayed as helpless twits! I know most don't like Rachel Dawes, but at least SHE had a fucking backbone and would've conked J in the balls if he tried HALF the shit he does to Harley. I prefer gals like Selina Kyle and Pamela Isley, yet apparently I'm in the minority. FANGIRLS are TWITS. Open your eyes, girls!!!!! It's NOT cute, and it never will be!!!!!!!!! *turns and punches an ape* FUCK. *sighs, then smiles* Ok, I feel better now. :3
