Alright, so here's a real update about what's going on in the life of Thomas... scary huh? Me, actually posting actual things here? Crazy!
Editors Note: Screw spellcheck, this is way too long and I'm way too lazy.
I'll cover the bad news first: health. Well, ever since I helped
mae_rock move into her apartment (which is, ironically and completely by chance, the one right above mine) I've been feeling really exhausted and drained. I mean, I know I've been lethargic and stuff in general since pnemonia two years ago, but I'm talking about debihilitating loss of muscle energy and coordination here. I'd reach for a glass or the right key to push and miss! Visually, I'm fine, but I just don't have the energy or effort I used too. It's a freaky feeling, to say the least.
So, I went and saw my doctor two weeks ago, on a Monday. My mom and
mae_rock thought I might be anemic, and my doctor thought it wise to check for some other things too. So, I go get a blood test and get the results back the next day: Everything's normal. So, I'm like "Psh! I always do good on tests." Which refers not only to my awesome test taking skills for school and stuff, but also all the testing I had done from a GI specialist a long time ago to see about my weight. And as a side note, I think I've gained exactly 1 lb. Yeah, I'm 146 lb now. So, I wait a week to see if things could get better, but I'm slowly degenerating. Over three days, I miss what cululates to be almost two days of work. And the free time I get from that I spend reading, or resting... anything that doesn't include moving. So I go back to my doctor on the next Monday (last Monday), for more options. I repeat my syntoms, and he gives me a series of seemingly unrelated questions. Well, his evental diagnosis? Depression.
Apparently, exhaustion is one of the many signs of clinical depression. So he's got me on some medication now that should help with the whole depression/energy bit. This is the third day I'm on it, and I'm beginning to feel really spacy; as if the world was ever-so-slowly rotating around me. Like that "dreaming but awake" feeling. I dunno. It's wierd. And it's probably influencing the style I write this post in, relativetly to my others, so don't be alarmed citizens! Stay calm! ~_^
A very late HAPPY BIRFDAY
DOOMAFLATCHI! I'm getting you presents, I swear. They're just late. Really, really late. And by late, I mean totally awesome. Yeah. Awesome. I might be to lazy to wrap them, depending on how I feel and how industrious
mae_rock seems (and she's getting a lot lazier now that we're down here).
Which reminds me!
mae_rock and I got half a week off work so we could come down to Pasadena and meet her family and friends! We are going to be gone for just long enough to not leave Chiasm at home, so we took him with us. He's such an awesome cat. He meowed and meowed in his cage as we went through Starbucks and got onto the freeway, but once we were going we let him out to roam around.
mae_rock drove, so I kept an eye on Chaism while he explored. It was cute, to say the least, especially when we both had to keep him from trying to explore the inticracies of the gas and break pedal! Eep! After a few dissuadings from exploring the pedals, he slept most of the way in my lap; so I slept as well.
So now we're both in Pasadena, hanging out. The first day we spent talking to
mae_rock's family, going to Ponchos, checking out a tattoo parlor filled with gang members (eh, they looked like it), and checking out Puff and Stuff. We saw some cool things, but only
mae_rock got something; a pair of jade earings (that I helped pick out and look really cool). They had a wierd collection of weapons that I would have gotten
doomaflatchi for his birthday, had they been more his style. Or more in my price range. There was a really nice looking samurai sword set with cobra heads for handles and the dagger I found for
mijal at RenFair in stock, along with an assortment of other stuff. There was a pocket knife made out of that wierd colored metal that shines psychodelic colors (akin to the colors gasoline or something reflects in puddles) that looked nifty. They also had a selection of ALMOST Voldo (Soul Caliber 2) quality hand thingies, but they were really more my intriguing style than
doomaflatchi's. Nothing as cool as what Tai Chen (sp?) down in Collin Creek had, though.
At Ponchos, Amanda (
mae_rock's older sister, turning 21 soon, which is the reason we're down here) put in 50c to one of those child-toy machine things that spit out the big plastic bubble things. Yeah. Well, she didn't get what she wanted, one of the other cool looking necklace things, but she did get a black, plastic, emo barbed-wire bracelet. No one else wanted it, and they were just going to leave it in the machine, so I took it. She said I was stealing it from the next little kid that came around, but eh. It looks nifty, and it leaves little barbed-wire imprints on my arm. I have to wear it halfway between my writst and my elbow to get it to stay, since my wrist and arm is so small, but I like it. Writing this, I tried to look for it but couldn't find it! But it was in my backpack all along. Silly me.
mae_rock's family has four cats in the house, of which two are now aclimated to our presence. The other two still run off and find a hiding spot when we enter the room. The two that stand us are Grism (whom
mae_rock calls Bunny, because he has a nub for a tail) and Ruppert (whom I want to call Snickers, because when I was a kid I always wanted a Tabby like Ruppert. Not knowing any better names for cats at the time, I wanted to call my future pet Oreo or Snickers). Chiam's having a fun time hiding under furniture from the other cats. We think this is the first time he's seen another cat, much less had to compete for food or territory and the ilke! The only other animal he's seen is Bruno,
mae_rock's roomate's puppy, who was more annoying than anything else. We've had to drag him out from under the couch numerous times already, where the other cats had trapped him. Ruppert especially follows Chiasm around, hissing when they get close but still apparently curious. Last night, we kept Chiasm in a seperate room from the others, in which he knocked down a few things exploring, but luckily no permanent or expensive damage was done.
Oh, and if you couldn't tell by the frequency of "
mae_rock" in this post, we're officially doing the boyfriend/girlfriend thing. Yay!
Alright, it's time to stop posting when your fingers get more tired than your brain. G'nite folks!
