But, I can see why the above comment peep made such a statement. Some Japanese artists are REALLY asshetic about their art. Some of my favourite Tekken sites I can't even VISIT anymore because they have BLOCKED all USA IPS for fear of us stealing their art, and I recently went to a LotR site that wouldn't let me in for the same reason. LMAO, years ago, when I FIRST got into fandom and joined lj, I hotlinked (yes, I was that stoopid) a bunch of Tekken fanarts of Bryan and Lei in drag, and the mods found me, and got REALLY PISSED. Since I... yeah... made fun of the fanarts, they were probably even MORE mad.
I honestly am too laid-back to give a fuck whether or not someone reposts my stuff on other sites, as long as they're not trashing it. God help me should one of my fics end up on Topless Robot, but that would probably only make me famous. The fics that have been posted there and torn apart have SO many freggin' hits and reviews now that it's not even funny, so should that ever happen to me (I am THAT paranoid) I would be angry, but amused at the same time.
I honestly see no problem with reposting fanarts as long as you're not trashing them or taking credit for them yourselves, but I can see why people would get pissed. I'm just not one of them, so I can't really compare and contrast. I'd probably sorta consider it a compliment if they were saying something good about my stuff, lol. I HAVE seen a couple of my fics posted on sites that I didn't give the mods permission to post them on, but they didn't trash me and did credit, so I didn't care.
But as for Final Fantasy... that is a fandom I have not participated in since the STONE AGE, which is sorta sad in itself. Maybe I should make an effort to re-visit it and re-learn everything I have since forgotten about it, lol.
