Steak and Kidney pie!

SO... do any of you friendlisters have dogs? If so, what do you feed them? Our dog is a medium sized boy named Diesel (or Dizzle or Fo'Shizzle or Deedle) and he's very fat! He's turning 4 this year and needs to lose like 5-6 kgs -_- And to top it off, he's a VERY fussy eater... so after trying pretty much every different type of dogfood we could find (and none of them having helped him to lose weight), we've started feeding him rawfood.

We're in the 3rd week of it =) Our first week we bought chicken necks to give him with his food. One night, Richard put his hand under the pillow one night and pulled out a neck -_- A couple of days later, I opened the bathroom door after a particularly hot day (middle of summer here) and all I could smell was dead animal. A quick search revealed a very smelly neck hidden in the back of the bathroom cabinet. A few days later, I found one shoved down the side of the couch while I was strainghtening the throws -_- So we don't buy him necks now.

We bought some chicken mince this week to add into his food and he ate it the first day then started leaving it all day and because it would smell funky by the night, he wouldnt finish it off. So I decided to try and fry it up and pretend I was eating it to see if that would get him to eat it. For the past few days he's been eating it all in one go. Yay. Has anyone else tried rawfeeding?

His current dinners (will change a little bit on wednesday after we do the weeks shopping) are made up of 300 grams (total) of a mixture of chicken mince, kidney (which, by the way, is the most disgusting thing I have ever touched and it smells even worse - and all the meat we buy is for human consumption so ew.) steak, pork and a chicken heart for good measure.

It looks just as bad when it's finished cooking.

fo'shizzle, birds = love, photos, dog eats better than i do, rawfeeding, rainbow lorikeet, sam
