Wow! I have mixed feelings on the Blade movie series
(#1: Great hodgepodge of different b-movies, well directed though not perfect, and the ending shoulda stuck to the original script wherein Blade has to kill his vampire mother and it kills him emotionally at the end;
(#2: Good script, shite action.... HATED Guillerman Del Toro for this until "Hellboy" redeemed him, imo
(#3: Bad script, bad direction, shocking that this was Goyer--- bad all around)
SO.... sorta shocking at how good "Blade: House of Cthon" was. The production values are weak (cable tv show, waddya want?)--- but the story is so strong that it just gets better and better as it goes, but the suprise is that the show is designed so that the gal who tries to find the vampire that killed her brother actually ends up as the main lead of the story--- and a twist comes at the end of the story actually got me a little teary-eyed.
I shouldn't be suprised that the story is good as it's David Goyer AND writing god Geoff Johns, but, since Blade #3 by Goyer was so god-awful, it led enough doubt that it was going to be any good.
Now, it is sad that they didn't renew this another season. *sigh*
