It's been announced that Totsuka Shota will be appearing in a butai called Defiled -ディファルド-, in April & May, 2017! He will be challenging a two-man play for the first time, his costar will be the actor Katsumura Masanobu.

Nikkan Sports), Totsuka was quoted as saying "I have a strong awareness of the challenges. As Katsumura-san is a dai-senpai, I'm nervous and excited, but I think I'll just jump in and ask all kinds of things."
As for the play itself,
the OHP gives the following information.
The characters are:
Harry Mendelssohn (Totsuka), a man who barricades himself in an historic library.
Brian Dickey (Katsumura), a veteran detective on the verge of retirement, who is sent in to negotiate.
And the story:
Harry Mendelssohn, a librarian. When the card catalogue at the library he works at is set to be scrapped, rather than change to a computer search system, he barricades himself in the building and threatens to blow it up. Men who couldn't ride the wave of the rapidly changing age, but obstinately continued in their ways. Their sacred ways. Even if they were taken away...
The veteran detective who comes to negotiate, Brian Dickey. In the tense atmosphere, a negotiator who tries to open a heart using skillful conversation. A man who refuses.The deep psyche of a man gradually becomes clear. Under dangerous circumstances, a strange relationship will sprout between the two men.
Will the detective succeed in his persuasion?
Defiled will have performances in Tokyo's DDD Aoyama Cross Theatre from 5th April to 7th May, Osaka's Sankei Hall Breeze from 10th May to 12th May, and Fukuoka's Momochi Palace Large Hall on 19th & 20th May.
