Felicia and I went on a long road trip that was 2,683.9 miles long, We went thru Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama, yeah Florida too. It was all good fun, we saw snow for the first time and saw the french quarter, and pretty much froze our ass off when it was -15, quite brisk. The main purpose of the trip was to see Aarthi in St Louis and we had a great time. She showed us everything her life in her LJ usually consists of, it was neat finally putting a picture with the place. THe journey was just as much fun as the destination though I must say. It was great getting to stop driving but what we saw on the way up was breathtaking...
We stayed at my uncle ron and Aunt Joan's house in the Appalachian Mountains in north Geogia for the half way point on the way up to St Louis. It was everything and more than you see in the movies Felicia kept telling me, I am glad she liked it because they are my favorite family members and I could go to them for anything, even if they are 10 hours away.
On the way back we stayed at a hotel in Jackson, MS which is a beautiful city even when it is raining. We went thru New Orleans on the way back and drove down Bourbon Street :D I got pictures! The city is ok in some places but still devastated in others... It was scary seeing how the place was left standing still in time from that day in August 2005.
The reason my post may see inanimate and boring is because I got news last night that my Uncle the one we went to visit passed on last sunday, a week after we left. What a coincidence. I am really glad I got to see him One last time... HE was 66 years old and died of a heart attack. Life goes on though, I wont let my self get too down from it Because he wouldn't want that.
