A 4 a.m. Musing in Sulz 418

I go to a school in a place where I can cure my homesickness by seeing Sweeney Todd on its closing night. Incredible.

In other news, my dorm room is the one strategically planted closest to the 4th floor Sulz elevators (which means that we can hear the trusty elevator bell every time someone gets off), and faces Broadway (which means that I can hear the torrid conversations of people walking on the west side of the CU campus while drunk at 4 in the morning: "LIKE YEAH, I THOUGHT SHE ONLY HAD FOUR SHOTS! I WAS DEFINITELY COUNTING THEM!"). My Georgian roommate seems to have no problem sleeping through the noise.

Got a babysitting interview on the upper-East side between Madison and Park. Securing the position will mean about a $60/week income or more. Said the coordinator of Barnard Babysitting: "If they offer to pay you less than $10/hour, you're pretty much getting screwed." Do you remember those animated apartment buildings facing Central Park in Madagascar? I'm convinced that I was the only one fantasizing about getting a glimpse from the inside of one of those residences while the racially confused zebra character (I forget his name...like it matters anyway) lamented about his lack of stripe color identity. My sister Robin suggested that I show up to their apartment with a popped collar to show my allegiance to the Eastern JAP Movement. Something definitely to consider....
