MERRY CHRISTMAS!
[aaaaaaaaaand happy hannukah to me and dc, first day, duh]
so yeah, they almost fucked up the turkey. they wouldn't let me fix it, it would have been waaaaaaaaay to dry. i had to baste it in secret with broth while they weren't looking. where did i get this broth? picture me, crouched in the pantry, with a hot plate.
plus, my beautiful swedish cousin is here, my age. platinum blonde hair, tan skin, skinnyskinnyskinny. pretty much my polar opposite. i would like her, if it weren't for the fact that my family pretty much began comparing her to me the minute she walked in. she doesn't even speak english, and they like her better. she doesn't even talk, not even in swedish. and pretty much my entire family speaks swedish. i don't know, maybe she was intimidated by my inebriated grandmother in the big apron with the star of david on it holding a chopping knife. i don't know why she would be though, the rest of us think it's funny.
my dad still wishes he could trade me for her. she looks more like my family than i do anyways.
we drive for 8 hours tomorrow. i don't look forward to it. oh well.
