You say I'm TOO passionate?

A woman came up to me today and said; "You are too passionate about gay marriage. It's not even a big issue in Michigan!" Seriously? It's not just a state-by-state issue--gay marriage is a HUMAN RIGHTS issue! How can I be TOO passionate about wanting equality for everyone? As far as I'm concerned, 'traditional' marriages aren't doing so great, why not let everyone share in the fun. The whole 'it's not a big issue' thing is ridiculous. Equality is a huge issue. Civil unions aren't acceptable, 'separate but equal' does not work, and I look forward to the day when anyone can get married, regardless of sexual orientation.

Don't like gay marriage? DON'T GET ONE. It's simple.

(I apologize for my atrocious grammar and stream-of-consciousness, this woman made me really mad.)
