Soo... I'm not sure if anyone is still subscribed to this thing! But I'm going to use it to keep track of some new cooking experiments! I want to become a better cook, and I already have too much paper in my life, so I'll just keep it all in here!
SO tonight I'm planning on making an old recipe that I made before and put on here with a couple changes. Last time I found out that you HAVE to both soak and cook beans otherwise they're a bit toxic to your tummy! So I made rice and beans that tasted great, but my stomach was angry for the rest of the week! SO this time I got canned beans! Here's the recipe that I plan on using

Bean #1: red kidney beans, canned

I cut up one small empire apple, 1 roma tomoato, and one medium carrot, amnd 1-2 sticks of fresh celery into bite-size pieces.
heat skillet, with small amount of olive oil. when warm, put in fruit and veggies. add balsamic vinegar, add cinnamon (I added a lot), ground cayanne pepper, a little bit of honey, stir well.
sautee ~10 min
add pre-cooked rice (~1/4 cup) and beans, stir until all lumps gone and rice is warm. stir well
let cook, stirring occasionally ~10 min.
Verdict: Pretty good! next time I'll add chicken breast with the veggies. Maybe some basil or savory as well.
