System Recover part deux

so i've been laptopless for the past week. fun times. my laptop was acting very sluggish so i turned it off and went to sleep. little did i know i would not be turning on in the morning. sadness and sorrow. Robert attempted to salvage it but i was hopeless so i finally had to venture home to pick up the system recovery cd. i've been leeching off wireless linksys at my apartment because our qwest subscription requires ethernet access. anywho, i might have acquired a virus. poo. long story short, i must reinstall all my programs =(

my car was almost towed on thursday. i didn't have class so i parked my car in my apartment parking lot for less than 2 hours while i was getting ready for the day. i come out at like 11:00am and my can is being lifted onto the tow hitch. there was this asian guy standing on the side watching. i'm pretty sure he's the one that complained my apartment manager. i didn't know i wasn't allowed to park at spot 7. no one is ever there. he was like "you're not allowed to park there." i told him i was sorry and he was "like it's too late, you've been parked there for over an hour." i parked there at 9:30is and left at 11:00, that is not over 2 hours. my manager was like "i'm sorry, i didn't know this was your car. if i had known i would have knocked on your door." i told him what kind of car i had when i was going to buy a parking pass and i also told him when i used to ask which spot i should temporarily park in. Su complains all the time about ppl parking in her paid spot and he never does anything about it. i never park over night, or for more than two hours. there's a guy that parks in spot 1 all the time (that's reserved for the owner) and he's never towed and he's not from our building.

the tow guy asked me why i didn't just buy a pass. i told him it was $100/month to park there. he understood. i would have paid $50/month like it used to be, but then it was doubled which is ridiculous for such a small and cramped space. i had to pay $190 to not have my car towed, which is the same price as it would be if i had to retrieve it from the tow lot. he told me if i had caught him earlier when my car wasn't hitched then he could have let me off the hook for free. how upsetting. it didn't help that i still had to buy books.

i really don't want to have to dip into my savings. hopefully i can avoid that.

john's bday was fun. we went to cheesecake factory where i had the massive i'll-never-finish, enough-for-three-ppl chicken and biscuits, watched Hot Shots, and then karaoked the night away with karaoke revolution til 4 in the morn.
