Countdown 'til wedding.
7/1/2007-7/7/2007
Day 1: Driving: 5AM-10PM.
Day 2: More driving: 9AM-11PM
Day 3: Hang out at Great Aunt's House.
Day 4: Disneyland.
Day 5: Wedding Rehersal/Reception
Day 6: SeaWorld
Day 7: Wedding Day
Day 2: We had lots of McDonalds. My dad is bitching alot. Aren't family vacations wonderful? (the answer is NO)
Day 3: It was boring at my Great Aunts house because the were all little kids. No one to play with. We went and saw a fireworks show at the high school nearby. That was okay. There was so much smoke from the fireworks that it started to dwarf the later fireworks. My cousin came by the house. We talked for a bit. I've documented an awkward moment:
Cousin: I’ll take you to the Stripclub. It’s great.
Me: …okay, I’ve never been to one before.
C: They have really good steak.
M: …?....
C: …*apiphany* Oh! I didn’t mean strip club. XD Stripclub is the name of a restaurant.
M: oh, okya, I was gonna say...
Day 4: Disneyland was fun. We pretty much just went on kiddy rides cuz it was just 4 parents, my parents and Uncle Sang and his wife, 3 kids 6 and under (my brother, Kyle and Katie), and me. The fireworks show was extremely good. It was all synchronized to music and very fancy.
My dad is seriously pissing me off! I totally got into a fight with him. This is why I choose not to sit in the passenger seat even when it is vacant.
Day 5: went to the wedding rehersal and reception. the wedding coordinator totally blew through the procession so i don't think anyone really knows what they're doing. My 2nd cousins, Christopher, Courtney, Curtis and Clarissa love me now. hehe. it's really weird how all the adults are like pushing me to drink...XD way to support the law. my adult pretty much pushed a glass of wine on me and my mom was like, "she can handle it." ahahah. my family is weird.
Day 6: SeaWorld was pretty fun. We went with Uncle Viet and his daughter, Uncle Phu and and h.l is boy and girl, my Great Uncle #5 and his wife (in Vietnamese culture everyone is pretty much referenced by relation and what number they were born, this usually applies more to the older generation). We went on two water rides. The first one was the Atlantis one and that was a rollercoaster. I didn't get too wet on that one. I dried off eventually being in the sun. On the wild rapids ride my entire back got soaked along with my shoes. We waited 2 hours for that ride and I was pretty much the only one that got soaked, everyone else got wet, but not soaked. =( i totally have a farmer's tan from today, hopefully i will fix that before i get back.
Day 7: WEDDING DAY! there was a morning reception at my Great Aunt's house were we ate a little. i left for the church early to set up the unity candles and put up the reserve signs. i spent a majority of the time in the vestibule because ppl were still trickling in. everyone really didn't want to sit close together. my cousin got roped into ushering with me. hehe. my dad dropped me off at the restaurant because my cousin wasn't at the house to drive me. i helped set up. my cousin came like 15 minutes after me. we ended up rearranging all the silverware. the bar was open for 2 and a half hours. when it closed there was still a lot of alcohol left. i helped my cousin pack it all into the trunk of his car. my hands were freezing because it was kept in icecold water. they started serving food while i was doing that. i was so hungery. the dinner was very fancy. Menu:
Appetizer
BBQ platter
Entrees
Shark Fin Soup
Honey Walnut Shrimp (aka Prawns)
Bass
Lobster
Filet Mignon Cubes in a Crow's Nest
Peking Duck
Seafood Friedrice
Desserts
Mango Pudding
Cake
My dad has been really outgoing on this trip. he gave a toast at the rehersal dinner and at the actual reception he danced with the groom and the groom ended up carrying him XD.
