I know I was daft about the "working girl" thing, but you really can't keep letting him continue this. Tell Paul about him--if he's like a father to you, he will understand and act on it. Tell Steven how much you dislike him and don't accept any more get-togethers or walks to the bus or wherever.

Really, I know how hard it is to shake these kinds of guys and I'm sure you realize it as well: you have to be blatant. And he may act really hurt, but he's just doing it for your sympathy and guilt.

Whatever you do, though, please don't quit your job over of this guy. Do everything it takes to avoid being in that situation.

I probably wouldn't have gotten the whole free purse and lunch either, or even slips of "honey," but I would not be anywhere near isolation with him after hearing that love shit.

I just don't want anything scary to happen to you! I'm hearing about creepy stalkers all the time now at university and have also had to deal with that myself in the past. Don't be your usual sweet, friendly self with this one. And do tell Paul.
