librarian to the max

The spring semester is upon us already. Oh goody-goody gumdrops. Well, I have this solace: I totally killed it my first year, so at least I have experience and confidence as I embark upon this, my second year. Still--grad school is hella tuff and stressful to the max.

Oh yeah, speaking of "to the max," here is the latest romance novel at the Elma Public Library to catch my eye:

Q: To what extent is this gentleman in the tight jeans and Stetson hat a cowboy?

A: The max.

Q: Why is this novel part of Harlequin's "Intrigue" series? What is the maximum cowboy going to do, take my fingerprints? Look, my in-laws are dairy farmers, so I know that if that guy has spent more than a minute or two in that barn of his, he's probably covered in shit. He's not fingerprinting me until he takes a shower.

A: What was your question, again?

Customers who bought Cowboy to the Max also bought:
  • Minimalist Chiropractor
  • Mostly Meteorologist
  • Half-Assed Paleontologist
  • Somewhat of a Blacksmith
  • Overzealous Pipe Fitter
  • Barely a Stockbroker
Anyways, here are the three courses that will dominate my every spare thought and moment from now until May:
  • LIS 518 - Reference Sources & Services
  • LIS 532 - Curriculum Role of the Media Specialist
  • LIS 571 - Information Organization
At least two of these sound exceptionally dry to me, as they're not specific to school librarians. Public library work, as I have learned at Elma, is shockingly boring. Talking up rad books and doing crafts with elementary school kids, on the other hand, is way cool. To the max.
