A/N : Title taken from The Carpenters song - Solitaire. Hearing John Barrowman sing this was just amazing in concert! Also inspired by lack and sleep and many hours spent awake at night playing Solitaire with the 'just one more game' phrase being repeated many times.

Ianto woke up early one morning to find the bed empty and cold next to him. As he felt up and down the covers he noticed that there was no note, which Jack would now normally leave for him to inform him of any Torchwood duties that he may have gotten called away for. Since Jack got back from his torturous time away with the Doctor, he had stayed at Ianto’s flat, often calling it his own, even though no arrangement had yet been finalised.

Ianto groggily looked over the bed towards the clock, neon lights threatening his eyes and portraying a blurry 3:20, much too early for Jack to be up naturally, especially since he had developed much more of a sleeping pattern since becoming Ianto’s partner and sleeping next to him on a regular basis. The young Welshman gingerly crawled out of bed and slipped on a pair of tracksuit bottoms. It may only be around Jack, with but without his warmth around him with the added thick duvet it was still 3:20 in the morning, and therefore rather cold in the modern flat.

Ianto opened his bedroom door quietly and looked around his living room, seeing a dark figure sat on his sofa with a soft glowing light illuminating his handsome features. As Ianto walked behind Jack and slowly putting his arms around his neck, as not to startle him, he noticed Jack frantically clicking the mouse pad of the laptop, as well as the repeatedly harsh action of hitting the ‘h’ button.

“You know you aren’t meant to use hint throughout the whole game don’t you?” Ianto asked slyly as Jack turned his head around to his lover, detaching himself from the game of Solitaire that shone before him for the first time in a good few hours.

“I know I know, but so far I have only won once out of 70 games, this isn’t right, it must be broken!” Jack proclaimed, pouting at the same time which reduced in Ianto smiling and feeling sorry for the child like state that Jack had progressed to.

“True or maybe you’re just really shit at it”, Ianto retorted as Jack gave him a tired glare, “Just come back to bed. Please? I’m sure that no aliens will come down and steal the game from your grasps whilst we are asleep.”  He added an extra kiss to Jacks forehead and smiled softly, hoping to tear Jack away from the game.

Jack looked at Ianto and caved in; “fine” he muttered as Ianto gently took his hand and guided him off the sofa and towards the direction of their bedroom.
