Day 2

Jun 13, 2006 21:27

Nothing cool except early in the day a little girl told me she wanted to look like some new pop star on MTV, so I told her to "Reject the commercial fabrications of a materialistic society." Her response was to shake her head, throw up her hands and run away.

Also, while we were hiking in the Brecksville Metroparks, I saw some empty beer cans and accidentally said something about them out loud. This led one kid to tell me that his father lets him drink beer. When I doubted his story, he replied with, "He does, he does, he even lets me drink Blue Moon!!" To which I had no reply since no kid should even know the name of any beer, let alone one as uncommon as Blue Moon. This made me believe his story about the beer, so I told him, "Well, you're going to grow up a Hell of a lot faster than everyone else."

I also forgot my lunch, so starting with only 50 cents and a guitar pick I bartered my way into:

Half of a sandwich (which I took the meat off of, leading to a lot of questions), Pringles, two Capri Suns, a cookie, a bag of Cheese Nips, 2 strawberries, a bag of Funyuns, Fritos, toasted peanut butter crackers and some watermelon. Not bad, eh?

Oh yeah, and I pushed the kids on swings and gave them all underdogs, which made me feel awesome.
