I remember the first time I picked up the red book with the words "Dungeons & Dragons" basic handbook. I played a theif named Adman (hey, I was in 7th grade, and I was hardly original). I thought this is sure fucking goofy but what the hell. Now, here I am almost 20 years later, and this goofy thing has enthralled me in so many years and times. I have enjoyed this hobby with my entire life, a goofy little game has given me the power to explore countless lives, and design and build countless worlds. Sure, I haven't played a game run by Gary Gygax, ever but I always kind of knew where it came from. It sort of a hobby which built upon itself, I know there would be no white-wolf, except for what they did. My story heavy style of gaming is all based on what Gygax did with Greyhawk, and the world of Greyhawk. This world building tools, which gave us the tools to create build and tell the epic stories we all love to this day.
I am hardly the most eloquent person to write on what Gary Gygax has done for us, as a hobby. About my love for gaming, and what I owe to him. But, I just figure it is important that I say how I feel in honor of him, cause well I know he was one of the people who started one of my greatest loves, and for that I will always honor him. Gary Gygax, may you keep building dreams where ever you find yourself.
