Life in Plano has been interesting. I've told everyone who I care about that I am here so if this is a suprise to you that I am in Plano, chances are I really don't care about you. That was a joke. Now that said, life in Plano compared to Austin is much like comparing decaf coffee with regular coffee. Plano is just more consistent and less exciting. In one word its extremely dull. So in my boredom i was perusing yahoo.com where they have some pop-up games. The ones where it says "stomp the bug" or "punch the monkey", there was this one game though where you had dual pistols and had to shoot this yellow target that moved really quickly. So I scrolled to it just to see if I could get a clean shot and after about a minute I finally did and in the heat of the moment, I clicked my mouse. A total mistake cause a page opened up and with it other pages opened and it took about 10 minutes to get all the pages down, it felt as if I was battling the demon of the web, but I won in the end. Another thing happened to me Friday night. This would also be last night. I was at chess club and my car broke down in the parking lot of Kroger on Greenville and Forest Lane. This is a particularly dangerous part of downtown Dallas. So I spent half the time there fearing for my life and the other half fearing for the car. So finally this guy who was clearly drunk because he smelled like a brewery walked up to me and said, you having car problems. I said yeah and I showed him that the engine would not start. Before this I had been trying to pop the hood a few times and had only succeeded in getting grease on my hands, because it was locked in somehow. So I popped the hood for the guy and he managed to get the hood unstuck somehow so he had it held up. So he looked at the engine and told me that my battery was corroded and I could start the car using jumper cables. Alternatively he told me that I could buy a can of coke from Kroger and pour it on my battery and it *might* work. I was confused, how could I use jumper cables and more importantly how did he open the hood. Finally a guy from the club was at Kroger and gave me a ride back to the club. With my recently acquired information, I knew what to look for. So I asked people there for jumper cables and none of them had any. Finally I called my mom and this old guy from the club walks out and is like you looking for jumper cables, and I was like yeaaa. So we drove back and I asked him if he had a kid at the club and he said his grandson. So he gave me some advice about going to Sears and taught me how to pop the hood and put cables in the car. So finally there was enough of a charge to start it and I thanked the guy. I was happy and he was Bob. So after meeting him I was on my merry way, so after I got home and stopped the engine it wouldn't start again. So now I don't have the car until the battery gets fixed which is probably on Monday. I'm considering getting some coke, but the gas station is such a long walk.
