Generations X,Y and Z are very lucky.
The cartoons, books and comics of our youth (and previous generations) are being created as movies now because the computer graphics have finally become capable of the high demands. The cartoons of our youth were ass-kicking combat fests AND/OR had awesome, adventurous plot. That makes for killer movies.
We have this killer list of cartoons turned movies already (and more I surely missed):
X-Men (Damn good movies)
Spiderman (more damn good movies)
Batman I, Batman Begins
Transformers (Awesome)
Voltron (Soon I hope)
Superman
Muppets (I like Jim Henson)
Lord of the Rings
Narnia
The Simpsons (Soon)
Beavis and Butthead (silly humor, but hey)
Celebration aside, now look at today's cartoons. This is what our children have to look forward to as their movies to watch as adults...
Barney
The Wiggles
Dora the Explorer
Blues Clues (not a bad cartoon, but wouldnt make a good movie)
The above shows that society has squeezed out all of the PLOT, all of the ACTION and all of the FUN out of cartoons. I feel sorry for future generations. All of the good cartoons, books and comics are from previous generations and will have already been made into movies. The cartoons of the youth now suck. Why? Society. Soccer moms, flower-power fruitcakes and Christians pushing their idealistic and religious zealotry upon the rest of us--as if this is better. Maybe the youth of today will all be raping young alter boys huh? I know if I was forced to grow up on Dora and Barney I would likely have turned into a priest/rapist too...
Solution: Give the toons their guns.
