Snowflake Challenge Day 1

In your own space, talk about why you're participating in Snowflake and, if you’ve participated in the past, how the challenge has affected you. What drew you to it? What did you take away from it? I honestly thought I had done the Snowflake Challenge before, but I think I was confusing it with the Squee Challenge (very similar). I've watched others on my friends/reading lists participate in the past and have enjoyed reading their entries. Starting off the year on a positive note, rediscovering and/or re-examining why I enjoy fandoms, meeting new friends and/or reconnecting with old ones - are just some of the reasons I decided to take the challenge this year.
I'm looking forward to taking part in it this year, and hope others will enjoy it too!
