Yes, there was ice on one of the parked cars I passed on my way to University this morning. A little cool to say the least.
Well last week was my first practical teaching week. We weren't expected to teach it was mostly an observing week, but I'm not one to sit around and do nothing. I wanted to be part of the class. I wanted the students to know that I was a teacher. I had a great time. My associate teacher has a very different teaching style from me, but is a great teacher. I'm sure I am going to learn a lot from her.
On Thursday, my associate teacher informed the class that Friday was going to be my last day. All the students groaned. Then she reasured them that I would be back in October, they all cheered. Yes!!! I have sucsessfully infultrated the class.
I loved staying up at the cottage even though after the holiday weekend it is almost like a ghost town on the lake. I went canoeing a couple of times, swiming, and went on a bike ride. My associate teacher is also big on daily physical activity so we go on walks in the forest behind the school.
I've gotten to see a lot of Canadian wildlife. This past week I've seen:
- 4 herrons
- 5 deer
- a flock of wild turkeys
- lots of ducks
- a few loons
- black squirels, brown squirels, and chipmunks
- 3 brown hawks
