The big break...

You know...

I always wondered what it would be like if Hollywood came calling.

At 2:30 PM today...

I found out.

But before I go into detail, let me go back a few days...

Last Saturday I was at home when the phone rang. I missed the call, but noticed that it was a 212 area code calling from New York. I figured it might be a potential client calling about a wedding date. I get those a lot from people who live out of state but are planning to get married here locally. They didn't leave a message so I called back to see if I could find out who was calling and why. Instead being greeted by a person, an automated system answered the phone "Hello, and thank for calling VIACOM. Please enter the extension of the person..." My first thought was Why are they calling me? Then I figured they must have dialed the wrong number and maybe they were trying to reach someone filming the movie here at the high school in Howell.

Fast forward to a short time ago and I get another call from that number. This time I answered in time...

"Hello, is this The DJ Guy?"
"Yes, how can I help you?"
"Do you do Sweet 16 parties?"
"Yes I do. Do you have a specific date you're interested in?"
"I'm calling from MTV's My Super Sweet 16 and we're looking for DJs that have Sweet 16 parties booked in January and February that would be interested in being a part of our show. Do you have any Sweet 16s booked for either of those months?"
"I have two clients pending, one for each month."
"Great, we'd like to send you some information that you could share with your clients to see if they're interested."
"Sounds great!"

We exchange email info and about 2 minutes later I have the details. In case you're wondering... they're focusing on REAL Sweet 16s this year and not the over-the-top stuff you've seen before.

HOLY CRAP!

Wish me luck!
