The new computer...
Wow.
Its fast.
Very fast.
I am very happy with it.
It scored a 5.9 in Vista.
Once I get a new high end power supply, I'll see about overclocking the CPU and GPU. Both come from the manufacturer with software to do so. I read a review of someone that overclocked the same motherboard and cpu from 3Ghz to 3.9Ghz.
I ended up skipping RAID for monetary reasons. Just running a single 640GB SATA WD HD.
System specs:
3GHZ Dual Core Duo
4GB DDR3 (1333)
640GB SATA WD HD
EVGA NVIDIA 9800 GT
Did a test run with Crysis (very system demanding game from this year) last night. It ran it with all settings set to max, no freezing, no errors, no crashing. Frame rate was decent, but I'm sure if I had another video card it would be flawless. I'd guess I'm getting between15-20fps in high action sequences.
In english: the game looked so real, it was like watching a movie - x box ain't got nothin on this!
Still have lots of software to add and I need to set it up on my home network.
Who says you can't build a high end system for less than a store bought one of the same power.
