Thats right... I coined it: Howellywood

9/30/08 - The Howell Public Schools Board of Education unanimously approved a movie deal Monday that will put the mostly vacant Parker High School campus to some use. The adult comedy, tentatively titled “High School”, is expected to be rated PG-13 and the district will receive $15,000 per week for 12 weeks under the six-page contract with Parallel Media, which must be paid before any filming begins. At the very least, that will bring in $120,000 to the district. The company will provide its own security but the district has agreed to provide custodial, maintenance and food services - the costs of which were incorporated into the weekly rental fee with utilities. It’s been expressed that as much as $6.5 (m) million could be invested in the local economy although many felt that was a very optimistic projection. Superintendent Ted Gardella says it also includes a 1st of it’s kind provision in the state requiring instructional events for students. Crews are scheduled to shoot in late October, November and December which officials stated was an opportune time with the holiday shopping season. Only resident Karen Katalinich, who almost had to be removed from the meeting for frequent outbursts, spoke out against the project and its content. The film involves substance abuse issues and the use of marijuana but a producer clarified that the film is an adult comedy and comparable to that of “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”. Katalinich also expressed displeasure with the building being used as a set when voters approved a 2003 bond issue to build the $72 (m) million building. Officials also explained that a committee will be formed to determine a long term plan to re-open the Parker campus and that is still very much a goal. (JM)

Maybe they'll have a post production party and need a DJ?
