I just ran the Ripon Triathlon last Saturday, and I hafta say it freakin' rocked. I haven't had so much fun racing in a very long time, and I didn't realize how much I had missed that feeling. Track and cross-country were great, but I never really got to race just for the pure enjoyment of it. Running the triathlon was almost like finding an old friend I hadn't talked to in a long time; it was just refreshing. God I'm such a workout dork. The race itself went reallly well. I took 11th of 103 in the short course with a time of 1:23:54. The swim went surprisingly well, but the bike sorta sucked. My mountain bike couldn't compete with the light weight racing bikes, and I got passed a lot. Very frustrating when you are passed by people that are pedaling a lot less hard than you are. But my second transition rocked, and I gained a ton of time on the run (passing back a lot of the people that passed me on the bike). You can see the top twenty results
. I'm thinking about a few other upcoming triathlons such as the one in
Oshkosh or maybe even one in Minnesota.
