This . . . is The New Orleans I Love
I had a wonderfully bittersweet night tonight. We had our annual office Christmas dinner tonight at a local restaurant. Nice, fine dining at BACCO. Here's a link for those interested or curious:

It was a lovely dinner, a wonderful social event, yet it was sad to see and hear the various plights of my co-workers. Several of my very good friends are not planning to rebuild or return. Many tears shed during the evening, yet the evening still retained a festive spirit. Following dinner, several of us went bar-hopping to partake of the fabulous LIVE music in the French Quarter. Granted, the crowds were quite small, but the spirit remained. And yes, dammit, there was LIVE Journey to be had (and VERY good LIVE Journey by the way).
So, I'm off in the morning for another trip to Portugal. Lisbon this time. My project is coming 'Live' and I'm going for support purposes for about 10 days. I'll try to lurk and observe but may not be able to comment (big surprise, I know). I'm still hoping to return to some sense of normalcy by the New Year.
