Second Day of walking tour

Another journey into the city, with a slightly different perspective...

We caught a streetcar on Market street
that took us to Pier 39 along the Embarcadero.
Our driver laughed and joked with the passengers
which made the bumpy ride enjoyable.

A hazy view of Alcatraz across the water
taken from Pier 39 along the row
of tourist shops selling cameras and t-shirts.

We climbed more hills than I've ever seen before.
At the top of the highest we found Lafayette Park.
People were walking their dogs and feeding the pigeons.
We sat under the willow trees and watched the wind
as it whistled through the branches.

Anyone visiting San Francisco must come here.
It's a narrow restaurant that is easy to miss
in the bustling Fillmore street.
Their Chicken Cilicia wrapped in Fillo
is like eating candy. No lie.

We gave our feet a break and took the MUNI bus back.
We drove through a section of Chinatown,
where there were some interesting murals decorating the buildings
and laundry decorated every apartment window and balcony.

I love this city. :)
