Well, 33 hours and 880 miles later, I'm back home. Sorry if I dropped off the radar, I don't remember if I said i was going to the funeral today or not... so yeah, I left work yesterday afternoon, drove back to Tullahoma, went to the funeral this afternoon, and drove home. As for Kempo, it's working out all right. I'm still enjoying the class, even if it's pretty rough on my back and shoulder (both of which have been torn up pretty bad this month). Tonight's class was alot of fun... none of the senior level instructors were there, so we took things light... Shane, our obligitory 17 year old high school jock wanted to do doe practice, so he donned the chest guard and let me, Heather, and Kurt beat the shit out of him for over an hour!
He got more than he expected with me, too... see, I started off with punches. You might have imagined that I have weak flabby girly arms, so my punches are pretty weak. Then we moved to kicks. Remember, I've been riding long distance bike rides for 3 years now, so my legs are pretty stout. Yeah... Shane found out just how stout first hand. I nearly knocked him on his ass a couple times, and I got him and kurt both hard enough to cause their heads to snap back! They were more than a little surprised by that :P
So yeah, I'll stick with it for awhile. I like the people, and I like the philosophy behind it, and I like the style, so I'm pretty happy there. It's a nice stress reliever too, after a hard day at the office.

Doe practice?
Is that anything like our san nije chi practice? We have to focus our chi and, without armor, let people whale away on whatever they want to--chest, arms, legs...you're technically not supposed to attack boobies or gonads, but there's always a retard who does...
