A/N: So this will be a series of sorts. I was given a rather long prompt so each chapter will be a different part of the prompt. It will be in chronological order so no worries! This is my first time attempting to write a series. I hope you'll like it!
Summary: Yixing is crushing on the singer that performs in Minseok's café.
~~~
Yixing used the hoodie to cover the majority of his head, and pulled up one of his custom-made mask to cover the bottom half of his face. The outfit was completed with big rimmed sunglasses that hid the rest of his face. He had promotions right around the corner and couldn't risk being seen by reporters, fans, saesangs- really can't be seen anybody, truthfully. But being trapped in his apartment for nearly a week has gotten to his head, and he decided that the risk of being seen was minimal compared to his desire to be simply outside.
He figured that his building's front door- shit even his apartment door was being watched- and the back door was also a useless escape route (since there was already an incident where fans surrounded him as soon as he stepped out. It ended up becoming a scandal- yeah, it was that bad).
A knock at his door startled him because honestly he didn't know who could be on the other side (which is another story because saesangs are those terrifying stalkers in horror movies). However, the knocks turned into a pattern- a series of knocks and pauses crafted from Samuel Morse that translated into a small sentence:
.-.. ..- .... .- -.
.- -. -..
-- .. -. ... . --- -.-
Luhan and Minseok
Yixing opened the door to see his best friend and his neighbor from across the hall- aka one building's kindest resident (next to Suho, because that man just gives money away).
"Hey, you ready to go?" Luhan asked in Mandarin, and Minseok swung a set of car keys around his index finger.
Yixing grabbed his keys and wallet, cell phone already resting comfortably in his back pocket.
"Let's go."
----
With the help of Luhan's convincing and Minseok's assistance, Yixing had created another escape route for himself. Well, it was mainly Minseok's corporation that made it possible.
This little arrangement started as Yixing's or, as the fans know him, Lay's popularity grew. And it was shortly after being trapped again due to the back door incident. Yixing was laying on Minseok's couch, complaining about how caged he felt while Minseok drank out of his coffee mug.
"Nobody said this was going to be easy, Yixing. Being an idol has its consequences, and this is just one of them."
He sighed at Minseok's words, and threw an arm over his eyes.
"Maybe I should just put myself in a box and ship me out through the mail." He muttered under his breath.
The way Minseok's eyes widened instantly made him regret his words.
"Minnie, I won't ship myself-"
"No, no, no. Well, not through the mail, at least." Minseok said, accompanied by a smirk that made Yixing nervous.
----
So that's how Yixing ended up here: in the apartment's unloading dock with Minseok and Luhan in the front seat of a U- Haul and Yixing riding (read: "bouncing") in the back of the moving van.
It was thanks to Luhan's "way with words" that allowed a U-Haul to appear at the back dock one a month (with no charge, too. Luhan was just that good at flirting).
A tone from his phone made him take out his phone- and then scramble for it, thanks to the road bumps- to see a text message:
From: Lulu-ge
Yo where do you wanna go? (・・?)
From: Xinggie
7:17 pm
Remember that café I told you about?
From: Lulu-ge
Or
With that singer you're crushing on?? (^L^)
From: Xinggie
7:23 pm
I'm not crushing. I just like the way he sings. Don't assume things
( T_T)\(^-^ ) don't worry. You're secret's safe with me. Just don't get caught by fans ヽ( ̄д ̄;)ノ=3=3=3
Onw then.
Yixing sighed as he read Luhan's last message. Sometimes it felt like he was the older one and not Luhan.
----
Jongdae was already waiting at the backdoor reading "Employees only". Jongdae was an employee at the café with Yixing's famed singer, and unwillingly helped (since the café's owner, Minseok, practically forced him to), but kept their secret anyway. He would wait until the signal- two swift honks- told Jongdae that it was them and used an umbrella to cover Yixing as he walked inside via the backdoor.
Luhan and Minseok followed close behind as they all entered the kitchen. Luhan reached for a pastry that was on a counter, but Jongdae slapped his hand away from it.
"Hey!"
"When was the last time you washed your hands? Don't touch things that aren't yours."
Jongdae scolded Luhan in Korean. Jongdae could speak Mandarin, but used Korean when he wanted to argue with Luhan so he can hear his badly pronounced Korean that appeared whenever Luhan got mad.
"Fuck you. I wash my hands every time I use the restroom."
"I find that highly unlikely."
They continued to bicker as Minseok held the kitchen door open for Yixing, and attempted to shut it on Luhan and Jongdae as they entered the café.
The front of the café was windowed, but the blinds were pulled down halfway. On the right side, small tables with no more than two chairs were spread apart far enough so you couldn't touch another person. The same small tables decorated the middle area. On the left side, there were booths along the walls and a clear floor big enough to be used for dancing. Against the far left wall, a small stage was placed in between the two restrooms.
"Luhan, shut up-"
Jongdae stuck his tongue out at him-
"and Jongdae put that thing away and go back to work."
-and Luhan stuck out his tongue, too, but left Jongdae behind the front counter and followed Minseok into the door labeled "Office" that was a few feet from the entrance of the kitchen.
Yixing, on the other hand, sat down at his usual table in the back right hand corner where the lights were purposely dimmed, to retract customers from going to that area. The blinds were purposely closed (to hide Yixing) which made it even darker. Yixing checked his phone for the time.
7:54 pm
His singer- well, he wasn't his per say, but the singer he basically fanboyed over- was due to perform in six minutes.
To say that Yixing has been to a couple of his shows was an understatement.
So Yixing removed his sunglasses and lowered the hood, but kept the mask on- just in case. He wiggled in his chair for a bit, trying to get comfortable. Once settled, he turned his gaze to the mini stage where two microphones, an acoustic guitar, an amp, and two stools were already set up and prepared.
7:58 pm
The singer walked out from the same door that Minseok and Luhan went into. His black skinnies hung loosely on his slim waist, but hugged his legs in all the right areas. His white button down had its sleeves rolled up to his elbows and showed off biceps that made Yixing want to drool. The first few buttons weren't buttoned and exposed pale skin and sharp collarbones that Yixing wanted to bite. His tall frame in general made Yixing want to cry.
The singer was followed by another man- nearly just as tall and wearing a similar outfit but with a dark blue button down. Both men (or the Giants, as Minseok liked to call them) stepped onto the stage and got themselves ready: the singer took a stool and sat in front of the microphone and adjusted it to fit his height; the other man grabbed the guitar and checked the cord connecting it to the amp, and then quickly checked the microphones before sitting on the other stool. He also adjusted his mic to be level with his guitar, and tapped it lightly. The singer looked at his partner, and they both nodded a silent agreement that they were ready.
The singer tapped the mic to gain the attention of the other people in the café and cleared his throat.
8:01 pm
"Hello, the guitarist is Chanyeol and I am Kris, and we'll be performing for you tonight."
