Myrtle Beach was fun. I miss the ocean already. But it's nice to sleep in my own bed again.
well... I can't say enough about myrtle beach. It was a lot of
fun times, the beach is awesome, and the ocean is like nothing else.
and boogeyboarding is swell too. That's basically what I did my first
two days there. chill in the ocean and down at the beach... heh, i
burnt and peeled, but thats okay. it clears up my skin : D
but yeah, this was a weird nationals. I usually do a solo, but i didn't
this year... the first year i haven't gotten a free pair of shoes in 3
years or so. but it all ended up being bittersweet in the end... so, we
ended up taking 2nd in senior small group, 2nd-7th in senior large
group, and 1st and 2nd in senior line. I would usually be ok with this,
but the groups that beat the small group and the large groups were from
a studio in miami which didn't really have much technique, but instead
won based on exciting partnering and showmanship. Now, they were rather
entertaining, i don't deny them that, but they just weren't great
dancers... it was frustrating. The guys in particular were pretty bad.
ugh. so i ended up being named the rising star of the nationals. fun
for me, but i would have rather the groups done better. whine.
so my ps2 decided to kick the bucket for the ride back, but it suddenly
works now. weird. and my brother all of a sudden likes that song "wake
me up" by wham. weird. heh "wake me up before you go go, don't leave me
hangin on like a yo yo". oh, and show on friday. crazy. i haven't been
near a drumset in a week and a half. time to practice.
