Turns out I might not be purchasing "Cucumber" anytime soon...

My fish Watermelon, ever the drama k-queen, might not be terminal after all. Oh, he definitely has/had 'Dropsy', which I understood to be fatal in all cases, but I think he may recover. I found some medicine in my 'fish box' that is supposed to treat Dropsy, and it seems to be working. His scales no longer poke out in weird directions and he's no longer as bloated as he was. And Ash says he ate two pieces of food today. (He used to eat about ten at a time, but two is better than the 'none' he's been eating lately.)

I swear, every time that fish starts to feel lonely and/or unappreciated, he either jumps out of his bowl or comes down with some sort of fish disease. Or does both, as he has been known to do. Come to think of it, I've known some people like that.... ; )

Also wik? Do I HAVE to move on from my Elementary placement???? I'm just starting to really love the kids and the teaching and the songs and the faculty and I've even learned the best way to dodge through the morning commute with relative ease... Mommy, do I HAVE to leave?? *whines plaintively*  I suppose this is the time to find out if I really, honestly want to teach in middle school.

Thought for the day:

"There are always plenty of rivals to our work. We are always falling in love or quarrelling, looking for jobs or fearing to lose them, getting ill and recovering, following public affairs. The only people who achieve much are those who want knowledge so badly that they seek it while the conditions are still unfavourable. Favourable conditions never come."  ~C.S. Lewis, "Learning in War-time", found in "The Weight of Glory"

Hooray for learning, my friends. Life is full of possibilities and opportunities to stretch our souls. To strive, to fall down, and then to dust ourselves off and keep going. Hooray for mistakes! Hooray for growth!!! Hooray for LIFE!! :D

And hooray for chocolate chip cookies. The end. :)
