Last nights lunar eclipse was awesome. Spent it in a park, having a picnic dinner (mmmm cabbage, bbq vege, weird ass taro mush steamed buns) with honey liquer and real chinese mooncake. There were a few clouds out, but not enough to totally obscure the show.

There may have been some panic amongst the ABC radio listners, because just before we got out of the car at the park, i heard the radio announcer tell everyone that there was a lunar eclipse tonight. But then he went on to say that it would not be going red, because that wouldn't be possible. He then read that bit out of the bible about the moon going red and bad ol' things happening (it was dark as goats hair.. etc etc)and finished off about how the moon was a lovely silver at the moment and it would just be getting blacked out.....
Would have loved to see the look on some peoples faces when it actually did go red after that little speech!! Ahhhh plague, pestilence!

So, then got too cold and went home, stopping by the bro-in-laws place to check out the moon again through his telescope. This was also awesome. Am going around again this arvo to check out the moon not all redded out through the telescope :)

......Cabbage steamed buns are the best!
