The freelance part

Jun 29, 2015 10:22

Today is bouncing between places and projects, and trying to focus in a coffee shop with construction next door and a burly white-appearing tattooed dude in overalls and bare arms, upper-arm tats showing, ordering a large peppermint tea and a blueberry muffin in an African accent and some well-meaning lady not being able to help herself from commenting on the incongruity. And a Pretty Couple making out and swaying to the Mazzy Star as they wait for his coffee order.

It's probably 75 degrees and stuffy in here and there's a jackhammer going to my left and the counter to my right. Last night, none of us slept well--probably the entire city--as a storm front came and threatened and humidified us, but didn't break till nighttime. I dreamt of Marvel and copyediting and edits with strands of yarn connecting the original manuscript with the connections. Rowan woke up, in both the middle of the night and about 8am, to say he wanted "company" in his room. We snuggled and read for a while, and now I really want to know how "Ice Planet Adventure" ends, but Rowan wanted to leave it at home and I'm left with a PDF about the construction industry to proofread.

ETA: I dreamed that Seth bought another house, somehow. Like he just took care of it, it was done, and now we had another mortgage. So strange.
