If you live on Capitol Hill or nearby you may want to head over to Stitches for this:

5eptember 25, 5:00pm - 8:00pm (Monday)
Sew Subversive Book Signing
Coinciding with the release of their book, Sew Subversive: Down & Dirty DIY for the Fabulous Fashionista, three life long friends are out to refashion America one closet at a time. The Authors, Melissa Rannels, Hope Meng, and Melissa Alvarado will be at Stitches on September 25th, from 5:00 - 8:00pm for a book signing and meet n' greet. Fashion is what you make it, not what you can buy off the rack. Sew Subversive is about making fashion your way, whether it’s embellishing or customizing shirts, skirts, or pants you bought at the store to make them uniquely your own, or transforming clothes that have lost that lovin’ feeling into something completely different and absolutely you: t-shirts into skirts, sweaters into hats and leg warmers, pants into hipbelts. Don’t settle for what everyone else has-subvert fashion and sew subversively!
