Oh boy

Feb 24, 2006 09:02

Just when you think you are making progress and might finish by bedtime, suddenly you find you miscounted and did the armhole shaping too early and you can't fudge it. You could but you won't. And you find yourself ripping mohair because it's the only way to do it well and you recount and get the armhole shaping right (dithering a lot, because you can never do both sides exactly the same, you have to do them on different rows and screwing up once makes you gun-shy) and feel pretty good but you have to go to bed, time has run out, and you hope you'll get extra points for doing it right and taking on a big challenge but you also finally realize you must not threaten the whole rest of your life (not the alloted days you have, but the other parts of your life).

Use this as a metaphor for my work life but also know it's literal.

I'll be back later in the day, you can count on it.
