iPod and jobs and c.

I was thinking about having two iPods, one for music and one for other audio[BOOKS and non-music], but now I realize that's stupid,* and I just have to buy a new one with lots.more.memory. Hm. I was thinking about buying some more office-worthy clothes, updating my cell phone (it's maybe 3 years old?), getting my hair cut, going to the dentist... but why bother if I can't listen to all I need to hear?!?

In "jobs" news, well, wtf. Let's just stick our heads in the clouds and pretend money magically comes from nowhere and we're totally and wonderfully fulfilled by whatever it is we're doing at this exact moment in time. [eta: My job is stable; it's just I'm getting weird information from flaky sources. I hate that. I generally prefer to keep out of this circle of b.s. I think it's called "the grapevine." Funny how the grapevine starts with one person reporting their understanding of any one issue/item from one other person--and already it can be totally untrustworthy.]

Hey, it's Friday, and this is a 3-day weekend, and I've got yarn and lots of good things going for me so let that balance the whining! Also: Last night Mr. Cranky (I think I'll start calling Seth that even though his name/identity are no secret, because it's fun and because he can def. be cranky) had someone over to play music with him -- Seth's songs -- and that was really, really great. Of course it means aNOTHER set of practices in his schedule (and potentially driving him around more) but it's ... just so good that he's finally doing this.

*not as stupid as it sounded the first time I wrote this. Dang. I was having lots of trouble distinguishing. It's hard to decide where certain podcasts would belong. The great KEXP live in studio podcasts have a lot of interview material which sometimes makes them more of a thoughtful listen than a zone-out listen. All the more reason to have a single iPod.
