In 1929, Werner Forssman, a resident surgeon at Eberswalde, Germany, inserted a urologic catheter into his right atrium from a left antecubital vein cutdown he performed on himself using a mirror. After walking downstairs to the radiology suite, the position of the catheter tip was verified by a roentgenogram. (Hurst's The Heart). This was the pioneering act in coronary angiogram.
Wow.
In other news I'm bored out of my mind! I'm working in the heart failure clinic this week and it goes from being very busy to really really really quiet. Although I enjoy a quiet day, having nothing to do just frees up my mind to worry about what horror might be awaiting me in my day. Isn't that just the biggest waste of worry? Worry about having a quiet day. Gah!
Patchadamsrn is coming to town this weekend... YAY!!! I look forward to cosmo hour, maybe several hours. Will also be gaming on saturday so yay.
This is arguably one of the longest weeks of my life. I can only pray that next week doesn't compete for the title.
Hugs to everyone.
