My oh my what a wonderful day!

Ding dong the sax has gone! Wooo hoo! Put it up for sale on eBay yesterday along with a load of other saxophone stuff that would be useless without a saxophone. I've sold the sax and a mouthpiece so far and think I've sold a tuner too. Words cannot express how relieved I feel to have finally sold it.

Not only that but I took the plunge and went swimming. I went for the first time on Friday. Well, I say the first time, it was actually the first time in about six years or so. I have a dreadful fear of sharks that has sort of spilled over into making swimming anywhere a stressful experience. I blame it on a combination of watching Jaws at too young an age, nearly drowning when I was thirteen and being blind as a bat until relatively recently. It actually proved to be a really liberating experience. I could move freely and speedily without too much pain. When I got out I felt like my limbs were made of lead. I completely overdid and spent most of Saturday sedentary and drooling but it was totally worth it. So much so that I went again today after my physio session. I think I need to have a dolphin tail surgically transplanted so I can spend the rest of my life in water, pain-free.

The other good things to happen is that I've managed to get an OT (occupational therapy for those not in the know) appointment for the end of this month. I was supposed to go two weeks ago but a mix up with the alarm clock meant I slept straight through it. I'd already waited nearly three months for the appointment but the earliest they could give me was a six week wait. I asked if there had been any cancellations today when I went for my physio appointment today and they'd just had one phoned in. Result! My oh my! :)
