Public entry...

In light of Gretchen's post, I have decided that I will not, as originally intended, post my "political rant" as a public entry, rather, it will probably be protected and readable by only a few users - if you wish to be among those, feel free to comment and let me know. I would refrain from posting it at all, except that I have worked quite some time on it and am somewhat proud of it as a personal "political views" essay. I don't require that those who read it agree with me (my political views are similar to those of Gretchen and Anna), but I do ask that everyone be kind and considerate if a comment discussion should arise. I confess that I could be somewhat harsh in some of my statements in my entry, and for that, I ask that my readers forgive me. I spent an entire semester studying Christianity how it relates to politics, and I have a hard time being impassionate. Sometimes, I am sorry to say, I can be unkind.

As I commented in Gretchen's journal, politics is normally one of the more divisive topics, and is perhaps more so among Christian circles. Christians are unable to separate "church from state" because those who are politically minded struggle daily to align their political views with Scripture. Therefore, I will attempt to refrain from getting too political in as many entries as I possibly can.

This week, I have my cousins Kaely (age 7) and Malina (2) visiting, so I probably won't be able to finish the above-mentioned entry for several days. I will get it finished eventually, however, and look forward to some constructive discussion as a result. God bless you all!
