Good news. Miss Sweet has returned. She made her way into my office this morning, seemingly unharmed. So, in celebration, my dear students will be receiving a homework assignment.

You're celebrating a happy occurrence... with homework? {{not impressed. not at all.}}

Is there a problem?

... It isn't very... celebratory. Like.

People celebrate in their own way.

But perhaps other people would be more sympathetic to you if you... chose a more popular way to celebrate?

I'm not expecting sympathy nor do I want it. Considering it was a student who caused all this trouble in the first place, I have no reason to offer a celebration that would benefit them in the slightest.

Ah, now I see.

It's physically impossible for Miss Sweet to let herself out of her terrarium.

It could've been another teacher. Or maybe you just didn't lock it correctly.

I am never so careless, and other professors know better than to touch each other's property.

You trust the teachers more than the students?

Honestly, yes.

Why is that? Just because they're older doesn't mean that they won't be careless, or that they'll know their boundaries.

Are you honestly arguing with me over my level of trust between my colleagues and my students?

caninepranker September 28 2011, 00:35:04 UTC
That's what it seems to be.

Let me give you a little insight. I don't completely trust anyone. I don't care what kind of person they are or the company they keep. Unless they astound me, I will not even offer a second glance. This can be subject to change depending on how long I've known a particular person. And you're telling me to put my trust in inexperienced students whom I may have known merely a couple years?
