Three Reasons for Multimedia
There are many reasons for using multimedia, one reason is using multimedia allows a person to learn faster and remember more. The U.S. Military showed that audio-visual training helps increase learning and retention by at least 80% over written manuals.
Allows companies, especially smaller “mom and pop” companies to flourish and grow. Since virtually anyone can burn a CD and sell or share it makes the distribution of multi-media content a breeze. Small businesses can create limited quantities of high- value products and allow consumers to access huge amounts of data for nearly nothing.
Using multimedia helps create a “sticky” effect. By using audio and video, the customer stays at a website longer. Using multimedia also allows web sites to be hosted at a cheaper rate then ever before. Which allows vast amounts of information to be transmitted for only pennies a day.
The “sticky” effect allows a person to browse the site longer. This helps convey more information about a product or business. Using audio and video allows information to come across in a much quicker fashion then written information. With the use of new easy-to-use software and good design skills, anyone can make an attractive website that features audio, visuals, flash, and video. The audience best suited for this way of conveying multimedia is virtually anyone with a computer, internet, and basic knowledge of how to operate a computer. However, the most primary audience would be young adults, tweens, business men and women, and any online shopper.
