weekend projects
I am SO SORE right now. Crouching and bending and reaching and painting all weekend left me bone-tired. I slept the sleep of the dead last night, which was fantastic until my freaking alarm went off.
It was all worth it though, because my front two rooms look amazing. There is still a little cleanup to do, so not final photos today. I do have some progress shots for everyone.
I have way too much shit. Damn. I need to throw away to two lamps that are kind of broken and no longer in use. Instead, I just move them from room to room because I'm a jackass.
The gold went on great. The green was kind of a bitch because it didn't cover in one coat. Either the paint beneath it sucks up more or the base Home Depot used was different than what was used for the gold, because it took two coats and was way more watery. The green was a last minute change, the initial color I picked out was more subtle. I'm glad I changed though, the green makes me really happy.
My other (unplanned) weekend project was shaving my cat. Zuzu has a crap ton of fur. It's really quite ridiculous. Sunday morning I discovered some poop stuck to her butt, which happens more than I wish it would. She was scraping at the floor trying to cover the smell of the poop, because cats never understand when they are the ones that stink, not the invisible poo.
Anway, I clipped that off and then found another knot on her side. I clipped that off. Fur was flying everywhere because it's spring and she's shedding something fierce. So, I decide to cut it all off. I DON'T KNOW WHY. Sometimes I do random things and it seemed like a good idea at the time because I was SO SICK of her freaking fur. Only problem was that I am not a professional groomer. All I had was a pair of scissors and a cat that hates having her backside groomed (I believe it has something to do with her crappy previous owners that left her a matted mess which hurt her hips).
SO I CUT IT ALL OFF.
Yes, it looks like a took a weed-wacker to her. I know. I actually think she looks kind of adorable. She's super soft too, since it all undercoat now. I think she is going to be a lot happier, especially when it gets really hot. I can't imagine how miserable it is to wear a fur coat all summer in Indiana. Plus, I don't have air conditioning.
Earl doesn't like the new haircut. Just like after she gets a bath he hisses at her for a few days because she smells different. Now he just doesn't like how she looks. Zuzu doesn't give a crap.

I also finally started Avatar and LOVE IT. Plus, I can watch the first season free on Netflix so I don't have to download it. My computer HD is hurting. I really need a DVD burner.
