Tomorrow, my sister is leaving for the military. She'll be in boot camp until about the beginning of August, then she'll be doing some emergency medical training stuff until hopefully December, and then she'll be given her base so she can begin her service.
We've grown up together since about 6th grade, and those are the important years, anyway. We've lived together, laughed and cried together, and shared every detail of our lives since we've known one another. I think it's safe to say, her joining the military is somewhat the end of an era. She's beginning her future now, and it is not just a couple miles away from me like it normally is.
So, in dedication to an adolescence of Tasiaisms, here's some nostalgia (and when I say nostalgia, I mean most of these are recent because old pictures were deleted when my computer crashed, sadly). Some of these are huge but whatever, it's still nice to look through:
When we dyed her hair and she said "fuck it" and just jumped in the tub to rinse it out. This one is actually old, it's when we lived together.
When we got drunk at a cabin.
When I decided we are the cutest group of sisters ever created through marriage.
When Tasia attacked my car for my birthday.
When we are cuddled and cute as hell.
When we attended our first college party together.
The aftermath of such party.
When she kept it slutty, every Thursday.
When we were a really good pong team. Surprising, no?
When she refused to take off her heels.
When we were drunk and frisky, as usual.
When we took our first road trip to Maryland. Completely secretly.
When that guy's brother bought us really delicious beer and asked for no money back.
And of course some picnik fun.
Needless to say, it's been fun. I wish her the best of luck.
