Life update
My last entry was not particularly happy, but things have gotten better since then so I figured I'd do a life update kind of thing here, just because I don't post very often but some people may be interested.
-About a week after our cat died, my parents got two new cats (I don't think they were as attached to Sable as I was). They adopted them from a humane society, and I love them. Even though I'll always miss my old cat, it's nice to have animals in the house. We used to have another cat with Sable, but he died about five years ago, so it's kind of weird to have two cats again. They've adjusted to their new surroundings and they're absolutely ADORABLE. Their names are Chipmunk (white, girl) and Echoe (black, boy). My parents each named one, and while I'm not particularly fond of the names, the cats have such cute and friendly personalities. I think they're brother and sister, because they're basically the same cat with the colors inverted. They even have the same spot by their noses (but on the opposite side). Either way, I really like them, and they seem to like me, so yay!
-My job has been both unbelievably stressful, and very satisfying. There are some weeks where I walk in every day with this awful, anxious feeling in my stomach because I know I'm going to have to deal with crabby customers, or have a workload that I can't keep up with, or difficult cases that require a lot of time and can be really frustrating. That's actually been mostly the story lately, especially because one of our case managers quit and another was fired today, so the rest of us have been struggling to stay afloat. This last week though has been pretty good. I've been getting work done and I've been catching up, and although it sucked to see my fellow CM get fired (he had it coming, he was a terrible case manager, but he sure made the job fun), some of the fun has come back to the job, because I don't really have any particularly nasty clients to deal with, so I have an all-around more positive attitude. Plus we just hired two more part-time CMs, and we're getting another, so that's got me looking up as well.
-My friend who I met when I went to Taiwan with my youth group in high school visited the States for a few weeks. He went back on Sunday, but it was good to see him again, especially because I pretty much thought I never would see him again.
-Tiffany and I are going to California for a week starting Friday. I'm excited, I've never been to Cali before and I've always wanted to go. Her sister lives out there so we'll be staying with her. I really can't wait, this should be an awesome trip and there's a ton of stuff I want to do. Good times.
That's basically everything major that's been happening lately. In all, things are looking good. Actually, there's probably more, but I'm getting lazy with everything and this is no exception. Anyway, peace all.
