So I have a kitten!
Her name is Izumi, or Zoomer when she's tearing circles around my living room. She's some sort of a Siamese mix - not quite the mega-angular face/pointy ears/skinny body of the modern Siamese breed, not quite the original "applehead"/sturdy body variety. I'm not a big fan of the siamese, but she's actually very cute. Probably about 3-4 months old.
Very sweet dispostion. Playful. And the only cat I've ever seen or heard of that, when taken out of the carrier, didn't immidiately find a place to hide for a bit. Instead, she just ran around my appartment, exploring. I put water, food, and a litter box out for her, and she located and used them within half an hour.
Got her on Monday, through friend's spouse's cousin's business partner. The story here is that the business partner has been in the US from Ukraine illegally for the last 20 years; got stopped for speeding, and was somehow identified in the database; so now he's in jail and most likely (95% probability) going to be deported. It was about 3 days between the time the guy got arrested and the cousin and my friend's husband made it to his house for business reasons; they forgot the guy even had a cat until they opened the laundry room. Don't know if he made it a practice to keep the kitten there when he was gone or what - but the poor thing had no water for I don't know how long...
Brought her home to discover she had a major flea problem. So she stayed in my bathroom for two days, until I could get her to the vet and the treatment kicked in. Then traumatized her her some more with the vaccuum cleaner and the mop, trying to de-flea my place. :-) But now we've played together some, she's slept on the foot of my bed and broken one flower pot, so well with the world. Better, anyway :-).
