movin' right along!
So, my friend Jeffrey, who helped me get my laptop, is helping me out. In the meantime, I've got the BAPS laptop on loan. (It's bigger but damn the resolution is better than mine!)
Last night was fun, Josh came over and we worked on our GMP costumes. (if you want to go tonight, check out Guerrilla Masquerade Party's website). Josh is still working on it (it's really elaborate), but mine was basically done in no time. I'm going as AnnaTranny, the KY Jelly Fish! And basically wearing nothin'! :-) It's near my apt, so I'm taking advantage of that fact. There's going to be karoake involved, so I've been practicin'. Josh and I watched or fast forwarded through 'bad' movies while we drank wine and worked: Superman II (just the Ursa scenes, mostly)and Switchblade Sisters. We broke for a Taco Bell run (natch!) in between. Supes didn't age well, the effects are worse than Supergirl's! And by the end of S.Sisters I was conking out, but it was a good mood elevator to have a fun productive night like that.
What else? Oh, I'm workin' on my resume. I quit one of my three jobs (I didn't want to pay taxes to work there and they weren't gonna make me anything more than a contractor plus my boss is leaving and it was a temporary position anyhoo), and my main one won't give me benefits and a raise is unlikely, even after 5 bloody years, so...it's time. I deserve better...as Terri Hatcher would say! (She's written a self help book and fought crime, go on gurl!) I like her. I think she kicked some chick's ass in that one movie(Something about a Valley?)...which is saying a lot, considering she's so tiny. Now, kicking another chick's ass in a motel room...that's self help, m'kay!?!
