I tried to watch the Grammys...no, no, no!
Who is Carrie Underwood and why did she swallow up Christina Aguilera whole?
I haven't watched the Grammys in years, they were just always boring. Last night I watched so as to see Amy Winehouse meltdown and the Beatles Love performance.
The Beatles part involved a woman swinging on ropes, with an exploding car, which was really awesome, but I hate watching people on ladders or dangling off edges of buildings in movies, so watching her spin around made my hands sweat! But I had Beatles songs stuck in my head the rest of the night, since all the others songs sucked!
I read and did other things while the show was on, and kept lowering the volume more as the performers went from bad (that not-as-funny-as-I'd-hoped "Ticks" song) to worse (Josh Groban and that other guy bellowing) to sad (Aretha, please cover up, my God!). By the time Amy came on, anything less than a "Gimmie More" disaster wasn't going to do it for me. I mostly just wanted to see if she wore a wig or managed to do something with her short, blonde-ish hair. She wore a wig. Yawn.
Oh, and I was excited about Fiest, but...she didn't even sing the half of the song she sang right and ended with a burst of feedback. And not the Janet Jackson kind of "feedback...feedback!"
The Grammys were louder and even gaudier and tackier than ever, but...still BORING!!!
and even though Cher and Cyndi Lauper were there, they were both dressed bad but not in an interesting way. Yawn. Oh, and Tina Turner performed...the best part was when she almost smacked Beyonce down to the ground...if only!!!
